Firefox Home, a free application, is now available for download on your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Firefox Home provides access to your Firefox desktop history, bookmarks and open tabs on your iPhone. Get up and go and have exactly what you are looking for on the Web on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Firefox Home uses your browser data, securely synced from Firefox on your desktop to the cloud, to let you search and browse quickly and efficiently. You can view the sites you want directly in Firefox Home, open them in Mobile Safari or share them with friends via email. Your Firefox data is private and only you have access to it.

Quick Start:

If you have Firefox Sync on your desktop, skip to step #3.

1. Install Firefox Sync, a free add-on for Firefox, on your desktop.
2. Restart Firefox and follow prompts to create an account with both a password and a secret phrase.
3. Go the App Store on your iPhone and search for “Firefox Home” or install it directly from iTunes.
4. Launch Firefox Home on your iPhone. You’ll be prompted to enter your Firefox Sync account info. Enter your username, password and Secret Phrase and tap “Done.”
5. Enjoy!

Last week, Google announced that the Google Docs viewer supports .doc and .docx attachments. Today they’re also releasing a mobile version of the Google Docs viewer for Android, iPhone and iPad to help you view PDFs, .ppt, .doc and .docx files you’ve uploaded to your documents list, without needing to download the file.

With Google’s mobile viewer you can switch quickly between pages and pan/zoom within a page. On your iPhone and iPad, you can pinch to zoom in or out.

You can try it out by going to docs.google.com on your Android-powered device, iPad or iPhone and select any document in these formats that you’ve previously uploaded.

Way back in the 90′s Microsoft rose to power with the brilliance of their Windows Operating system. It made using a computer easy to use and visually appealing.

In the late 90′s three guys from Stanford launched a tiny search engine called Back Rub, which finally became Google.

how is this going to change?

Today, in 2005, Both Google and Microsoft dominate their perspective business space. Google owns search, and Microsoft owns the Operating system market.

Consider how far the net has progressed in the past 10 years. Back then, the net was used for email, and for the Military and Universities alike to store information that could be accessed easily by anyone with a connection to the web.

there is no longer a need to be “stuck” with Windows or MAC. All you need is a browser – and the browser will be the official “Operating System” of the web.

From my browser not only can I access the universe of information, but I don’t need to worry about if it’s on a computer or MAC. A HTML page doesn’t care if you have a Dell computer, a G5, or web television. All it cares about is rendering out images and text in a logical format.

This is truly where the revolution has only begun with Mozilla’s Fire Fox, and Microsoft’s web Explore hopes to catch up with. An while all of this is going on Google isn’t waiting around. they quietly bought the domain name called “gbrowser.com” – which would seem to indicate that they are working on their own version of a browser (with the help of Mozilla) to compete.

It looks like dogs everywhere are in for some trouble as Apple reveals over one million iPhone 3G S models were sold this past weekend. Yep, that’s a whole lot of high pitched squealing — but apparently the “S” stands for “Sales”. Almost equally as impressive, it looks like Steve Jobs was somehow tracked down for comment:

Fair enough, Stevo… Over a million handsets sold and over six million OS 3.0 downloads in one weekend is definitely a solid showing. What’s more is that despite a few issues here and there, users seem overwhelmingly happy with their new handsets. How about you guys — satisfied customers or buyer’s remorse?

The iPhone Dev Team updated its blog to include full instructions on jailbreaking your iPhone OS 3.0 device using redsn0w — the multi-platform, multi-device jailbreaking and unlocking tool. Redsn0w only supports the iPhone 2G (original iPhone), iPhone 3G and the iPod touch (first and second generation) for the time being. The latest iPhone 3G S is not yet supported for jailbreaking or unlocking so don’t try to use it on your brand new phone! Jailbreaking is supported across all devices running OS 3.0, except for the 3G S, and unlocking is only available for the iPhone 2G. 3G owners need to wait for the upcoming ultrasn0w to be released in order to unlock their OS 3.0 devices.
